How the Pag-IBIG Contribution Calculator Works

Pag-IBIG (the Home Development Mutual Fund, or HDMF) is the Philippines’ national savings and housing fund. Members contribute monthly, and employers match part of it. This calculator applies the standard employee and employer rates to your monthly compensation, enforces the 10,000 Maximum Fund Salary cap, and shows each share plus the combined total.

The Formula

Contribution basis = min(monthly compensation, 10,000) Employee share = basis × 1% if compensation ≤ 1,500, otherwise basis × 2% Employer share = basis × 2% Total = employee share + employer share

Because the basis is capped at the Maximum Fund Salary of 10,000, the contribution never exceeds 200 per side, or 400 in total, no matter how high the actual salary is.

Worked Example

For an employee earning a monthly compensation of 20,000:

  • Contribution basis = min(20,000, 10,000) = 10,000
  • Employee share = 10,000 × 2% = 200
  • Employer share = 10,000 × 2% = 200
  • Total = 200 + 200 = 400

A low earner making 1,200 a month pays the employee rate of 1%: 1,200 × 1% = 12, with the employer paying 1,200 × 2% = 24.

Why It Matters

Your Pag-IBIG savings earn tax-free annual dividends and unlock access to housing loans, short-term multi-purpose loans, and your total accumulated value at maturity. Because contributions are capped, many members add voluntary amounts above the mandatory minimum to build savings faster.

This tool reflects the mandatory contribution rules including the 10,000 Maximum Fund Salary effective 2024. It is for general guidance only — rates and the fund salary cap are set by Pag-IBIG and can change, so confirm the current schedule on official Pag-IBIG advisories and check your payslip for your exact deduction.

Frequently asked questions

How is the Pag-IBIG contribution calculated?+

Apply the rates to your monthly compensation, capped at a Maximum Fund Salary of 10,000. The employee pays 1% if compensation is 1,500 or below and 2% if above, while the employer always pays 2%. At the 10,000 cap, that is 200 from the employee and 200 from the employer.

What is the maximum Pag-IBIG contribution?+

The maximum monthly contribution is 400 in total: 200 from the employee and 200 from the employer. This is because the contribution basis is capped at the 10,000 Maximum Fund Salary, even if your actual salary is higher.

What are the Pag-IBIG contribution rates?+

Employees earning more than 1,500 a month contribute 2%, while those earning 1,500 or less contribute 1%. Employers contribute 2% in all cases. Both rates are applied to monthly compensation up to the 10,000 cap.

Did the Pag-IBIG contribution increase?+

Yes. Effective February 2024, the Maximum Fund Salary rose from 5,000 to 10,000, doubling the maximum monthly contribution from 100 to 200 per side. So the most an employee and employer each pay is now 200.

Can I contribute more than the required amount to Pag-IBIG?+

Yes. Members may make voluntary contributions above the mandatory amount to grow their savings and dividends. This calculator shows the mandatory contribution based on the standard rates and the 10,000 fund salary cap.
