Unlike a random number, this calculator is repeatable: the same two names always produce the same score. Here is the logic:
- Each name is lowercased and reduced to letters only (spaces, punctuation and numbers are ignored).
- The two names are sorted alphabetically and joined, so order never changes the result.
- The combined text is run through a fast hash, which is mapped to a number from 1 to 100.
Because of step 2, “Alex + Jordan” and “Jordan + Alex” give exactly the same answer.
