How the Countdown Is Calculated

The tool targets the very next January 1 at 00:00 in your local time zone and subtracts the current moment:

Time left = (next Jan 1 at midnight) − (right now)

The difference is split into whole days, hours, minutes and seconds and refreshed every second, so it is always accurate to your exact location.
