XNXP means your type is intuitive (N) and perceiving (P) — but your E/I and T/F letters are undecided. This quiz resolves those two letters so you can see which xNxP type fits you: ENTP, ENFP, INTP or INFP.
What Is the XNXP Personality Test?
XNXP is a 16-type personality label with two undecided letters. The N stands for intuitive and the P stands for perceiving, while each X is a placeholder for a letter you have not settled yet: your Extravert/Introvert preference and your Thinking/Feeling preference. This free test asks 10 short questions to resolve those two X letters and tell you which xNxP type you are — ENTP, ENFP, INTP or INFP.
People often end up with an “X” letter when they score close to the middle on a type test, or when a result reports them as xNxP without finishing all four axes. This quiz fills in the gaps.
How to Take the Test
- Read each of the 10 statements and choose how much you agree, from “Strongly disagree” to “Strongly agree.”
- Five statements measure your Extravert (E) vs Introvert (I) preference; five measure Thinking (T) vs Feeling (F).
- Tap See my type to combine your two resolved letters with the fixed N and P.
- Tap Start over to retake the test with different answers.
The Four xNxP Types
| Type | Nickname | In a nutshell |
|---|---|---|
| ENTP | The Debater | Energetic, idea-driven, loves a good argument |
| ENFP | The Campaigner | Warm, enthusiastic, sees potential everywhere |
| INTP | The Logician | Analytical, inventive, independent thinker |
| INFP | The Mediator | Idealistic, empathetic, values-driven |
All four share the same intuitive-perceiving core: they prefer possibilities over concrete details (N) and keep their options open rather than locking in plans (P). The difference comes down to where they get their energy (E or I) and how they make decisions (T or F).
Understanding Your Result
- E vs I is about energy. Extraverts recharge around people and think out loud; introverts recharge alone and process internally.
- T vs F is about decisions. Thinkers lead with logic and consistency; feelers lead with values and how choices affect people.
If you scored close to the middle on either axis, you may genuinely sit near the boundary — many people do. Retake the test and answer as decisively as you can to see your clearer lean.
A Note on Accuracy
This is a lightweight self-reflection quiz, not a validated psychological instrument. Type frameworks are best treated as a fun lens for understanding yourself, not a fixed label. Use your XNXP result as a conversation starter and a prompt for reflection — and if you want a thorough breakdown, take a full, professionally designed assessment.
Frequently asked questions
What does XNXP mean?+
XNXP is shorthand for a 16-type personality result where two letters are still undecided. The N (intuitive) and P (perceiving) are fixed, while the X placeholders mean your Extravert/Introvert (E/I) and Thinking/Feeling (T/F) preferences have not been pinned down yet.
What types fall under XNXP?+
Four types share the N and P core: ENTP, ENFP, INTP and INFP. This test resolves your two X letters, so you end up with one of those four. ENTP and ENFP are extraverted; INTP and INFP are introverted.
How does the XNXP test work?+
You answer 10 agree/disagree statements on a five-point scale. Five statements score your Extravert/Introvert axis and five score your Thinking/Feeling axis. The tool adds up each axis and combines the results with the fixed N and P to name your type.
Is this a scientific or official test?+
No. It is a quick, for-fun self-reflection quiz, not a clinically validated assessment. Use it as a starting point for thinking about your preferences, and take a full, professionally developed inventory if you want a thorough result.
Can I retake the XNXP test?+
Yes. Tap Start over to clear your answers and try again. Because the result depends on which side of each axis you lean, answering more decisively can move you from a borderline type to a clearer one.
