How the Lucky Number Calculator Works
This calculator finds the single-digit lucky number hidden in your date of birth using the classic numerology method of digit reduction. The same value doubles as your Life Path number, the most important figure in numerology, and the tool pairs it with a traditional lucky colour and a short personality trait.
The Method
Step 1: Add together every digit in your full birth date (day, month and year). Step 2: If the total has more than one digit, add its digits together too. Step 3: Repeat until a single number from 1 to 9 remains. That is your lucky number.
Because each pass shrinks the number, the process always ends on a value between 1 and 9.
Worked Example
Take the birth date 23 August 1995 (1995-08-23):
- Add the digits: 1 + 9 + 9 + 5 + 0 + 8 + 2 + 3 = 37
- 37 has two digits, so reduce: 3 + 7 = 10
- 10 still has two digits, so reduce again: 1 + 0 = 1
