How it works
This calculator estimates your monthly SSS (Social Security System) contribution in the Philippines using the 2024 rules introduced under SSS Circular 2023-033. Enter your monthly salary and choose whether you are an employed member (with an employer) or a self-employed / voluntary / OFW member.
The tool converts your salary into a Monthly Salary Credit (MSC), applies the 14% total contribution rate, and shows how that splits between the employee and employer (or the full amount if you pay it yourself). It also breaks out the Regular SS portion and the WISP (provident) portion.

The SSS Contribution Rules (2024)
For 2024, the key figures are:
- Total contribution rate: 14% of the Monthly Salary Credit.
- Employed split: employee pays 4.5%, employer pays 9.5%.
- Monthly Salary Credit (MSC): set in ₱500 steps, from a minimum of ₱4,000 to a maximum of ₱30,000.
- WISP (Workers’ Investment and Savings Program): a mandatory provident fund covering the MSC portion above ₱20,000 (so MSC ₱20,500–₱30,000).
- Employees’ Compensation (EC): an extra employer-paid contribution of ₱10 if the MSC is ₱14,500 or below, otherwise ₱30.
Your salary maps to the nearest ₱500 MSC bracket. For example, a salary anywhere from ₱24,750 to ₱25,249.99 lands on an MSC of ₱25,000. Salaries below ₱4,250 use the ₱4,000 floor; salaries of ₱29,750 and above use the ₱30,000 ceiling.
Worked Example
A member earns ₱25,000 / month and is employed:
- MSC = ₱25,000 (the salary falls in the ₱24,750–₱25,249.99 bracket).
- Total contribution = ₱25,000 × 14% = ₱3,500.00.
- Employee share = ₱25,000 × 4.5% = ₱1,125.00.
- Employer share = ₱25,000 × 9.5% = ₱2,375.00, plus ₱30 EC = ₱2,405.00.
- WISP = the portion above ₱20,000 (₱5,000) × 14% = ₱700.00, with the first ₱20,000 (₱2,800) going to Regular SS.
So the grand total is ₱3,530.00 per month (₱3,500 SSS + ₱30 EC).

Self-employed, voluntary and OFW members pay the full 14% of their chosen MSC themselves (plus the applicable EC), since there is no employer to share the cost.
Frequently asked questions
What is the SSS contribution rate in 2024?+
For 2024 the total SSS contribution rate is 14% of the Monthly Salary Credit (MSC). For employed members this is split as 4.5% from the employee and 9.5% from the employer, plus a small Employees' Compensation (EC) contribution paid by the employer.
What is the Monthly Salary Credit (MSC) in 2024?+
The MSC is the figure your contribution is calculated on, set in ₱500 steps based on your monthly salary. In 2024 the minimum MSC is ₱4,000 and the maximum is ₱30,000, so even high earners contribute on a ₱30,000 ceiling.
What is WISP in my SSS contribution?+
WISP (Workers' Investment and Savings Program) is a mandatory provident fund. In 2024 it applies to the portion of your MSC above ₱20,000, so members with an MSC between ₱20,500 and ₱30,000 have part of their 14% contribution credited to their WISP account.
How much is SSS contribution for a ₱25,000 salary?+
A ₱25,000 salary gives an MSC of ₱25,000. The total contribution is ₱25,000 × 14% = ₱3,500, with the employee paying 4.5% (₱1,125) and the employer paying 9.5% (₱2,375) plus the ₱30 EC contribution.
Do self-employed members pay both shares?+
Yes. Self-employed, voluntary and OFW members shoulder the full 14% of their chosen MSC themselves, since there is no employer to share the cost, plus the applicable EC contribution.
